Autumn awaiting

                                                   So it goes
                                           each passing
   measure,
                                                   weighted
                                                   observed
                                                   endeavor,
                                       to what end
                                                   or design
                                                   does hide
                                                   behind the mind
                                                   of body, heart
                                                   declines
                                                   the offer.
                                                   so it goes
                                                   what exchange of gold
                                                   a person’s soul
                                                   equate the treasure
                                                   nor count the
                                                   passing of a breath
                                                   yet
                                                   each passing
                                                   counts more not less
                                                   measuring is but a quest
                                                   to measure what is measureless
